Recommended staffing levels of medical physicists, technicians and other technical staff dedicated to radiological physics activities in diagnostic radiology
Additional comments
Fill in the number of devices. X-ray machines used for both general radiography and fluoroscopy should be counted in both categories. In case of multiple-tube X-ray units, count every X-ray tube separately.
The result of this calculation is the number of all personnel dedicated to medical physics in diagnostic radiology, and the recommended minimal number of medical physicists.
The calculation includes all activities related to
- performance and evaluation of periodical tests (commissioning tests, annual QC tests, routine tests), creation and updating of protocols and reports,
- determination and evaluation of patient doses,
- development and updating of the documentation according to the Czech legislation,
- implementation of new equipment,
- usage of measuring instruments,
- training of radiation workers,
- consultation (with other staff members, with patients)
Number of medical physicists and other workers should be grossed up for additional activities (teaching on university, activities of radiation safety officer, etc.).
